Therapy bunnies are a great addition to a comprehensive health and wellness plan. Having these gentle giants in our home has brought comfort and joy that we want to share with others.
Each of our bunnies are raised using our propietary process to be a great therapy pet.
Steps to owning a therapy rabbit
1 Our website btrabbitry.com contains all info on our bunny therapy project. Be sure to visit our Facebook page for photos and video of our past and present litters.
2 Check Availability on our website or by sending us an email. Let us know your preferences.
3 You are welcome to add your name to our waitlist where we notify you of upcoming litters.
Waitlist Notes
- -There is no obligation to buy if on the list.
- -Deposits are not accepted from those on the list.
- -Due to the nature of breeding, there is no guarantee that a bunny will be provided to those on the list.
4 After confirming that we will have a bunny available, a deposit can be made on our website to reserve. We accept credit card payments through Square.
Deposit Notes
- -A bunny is not reserved until the deposit is received.
- -Please pay your deposit within 24 hours or risk not reserving a bunny.
- -Make sure to read the terms of sale below before making a deposit.
- -If your reserved bunny becomes unavailable for any reason, your deposit will be refunded in full or transferred to another bunny as agreed upon by both parties.
- -Orders canceled by the customer without prior agreement will forfeit the deposit no exceptions.
5 Balance due is payable at the time of pickup.
Pickup Notes
- -When your rabbit is ready, arrangements must be made to pick it up. We do not ship nor do transport.
- -When picking up, please be on-time or immediately call if running late or need to reschedule. We will do the same.
- -Please bring appropriate travel cage(s), none are provided.
- -Upon pickup, you will be given our starter pack of rabbit pellets. This is the food your rabbit has been eating, the same that we give our show rabbits.
- -Failure to pickup within 2 weeks will result in a charge of $20 for each week that it remains with us.
6 All transactions are handled by Pismo Beach Marketing who is implementing the Bunny Therapy Rabbitry project.
Terms of Sale
We charge a service fee for our time invested in raising your therapy bunny. There is no charge for the actual rabbit.
Health Guarantee / Quality Disclaimer. Your rabbit will be presented to you with no health issues that we are aware of at the time of pickup. To the best of our knowledge all rabbits are healthy and are doubled checked when they leave to their forever homes. It is up to you to check the rabbit over before taking possession. If anything doesn’t meet your standards please inform us at time of pickup.
While we do our best to maximize quality by breeding purebred Flemish Giants that have a pedigree in all of their lines, we DO NOT guarantee that any rabbit will be a show quality animal that will win any awards or competitions. We are not responsible for any disqualifications or faults that are missed.
The classification of a show quality rabbit simply means that it is free of discernible disqualifications. As your rabbit matures it may develop disqualifications or faults that are not evident at the time of pickup. This is not the responsibility of Bunny Therapy Rabbitry, but rather this is the risk we all incur as rabbit owners.
We do not guarantee personality, gender or sexual reproduction of the rabbit.
We do not guarantee that a rabbit will be a good breeder or mother.
We do not sell rabbits that show outward signs of illness or disease.
We do not sell rabbits that show any signs of aggression.
In the rare instance that a bunny bites, immediately evaluate the bunny’s environment. Make sure it does not feel threatened. In addition, give your bunny daily playtime and affection. A continuously caged bunny will become bored and unhappy which can lead to a change of behavior.
Bunny Therapy Rabbitry is not responsible for anything that may happen after the rabbit has left our property.
Rabbits come with a 3 day limited health guarantee that does not include any illness or injury afflicted after the rabbit is out of our care such as stress, abuse or neglect. If an illness can be traced to our rabbitry within the first week, we will refund the price paid for the bunny.
We do not pay vet bills. We do not reimburse for vet bills.
If your rabbit dies within 10 days of purchase, a veterinarian’s necropsy report showing an existing congenital defect or other preexisting condition will be required for refund. (Veterinarian costs are your responsibility and no portion will be refunded by Bunny Therapy Rabbitry, regardless of cause.)
Return Policy
Within 6 months of pickup if you are moving and unable to provide care for your therapy bunny, please bring it back to us. We’ll take it back and make certain it has a caring home. No refunds are given. If the rabbit has an illness that could threaten the health of our herd, it will not be taken back.
